ALMA, Colorado (KRDO) -- The highest town in North America can now say it is home to the highest gym in North America.

Alma's Gym might be small, but it holds a large distinction.

“The elevation of this gym is at 10,361 feet and that makes it the highest gym in North America,” said gym owner, Cody Lefever.

Denver is known as the Mile High City, but if you are pumping iron at Alma's Gym, you're nearly two miles high. For this reason, the gym has an oxygen bar.

According to our news partners in Denver, the high-elevation gym is attracting people from all over the world who want to test their abilities in the thin air.

"Just last week we had people from zero elevation England come and train," said Lefever. "They wanted to see what they could do at elevation.”

Alma's Gym has free weights, cardio machines, an oxygen bar, and offers personal training sessions.
