The new Broncos ownership group introduced to Broncos Country

"It’s my honor to introduce the Walton-Penner family ownership group [led by] Rob Walton,” said former Broncos executive, Joe Ellis

The transition of power may have been handed over to the Walton-Penner family group but the goal remains the same, "Our number one priority is putting a winning team on the field to win Super Bowls for Broncos Country," says new Broncos owner, Rob Walton.

Greg Penner was named CEO of the team on Tuesday but they do plan to hiring a president of football operations. Two potential candidates are two Broncos greats John Elway and Peyton Manning, "John Elway is the ultimate Bronco. . I have had a chance to visit with him and look forward to learning as much from him as possible. Peyton [Manning] is one of the greatest NFL players of all time. We have had a chance to get to know him through the process as well. We are just going to learn from both of them. I think it is going to be a really good relationship,” says Broncos owner and CEO, Greg Penner.

One thing the new owners will not do is meddle, "We’re not going to be drafting players. We’re going to empower this team led by [General Manager] George Paton and [Head Coach] Nathaniel Hackett to make those key decisions, says Penner. Obviously, part of this fun is learning and understanding and all of that but we’re going to be [making the football decisions]. They’re going to make the football decisions.”

Dr. Condoleezza Rice knows a thing or two about football, "One is that you have to understand how much I love football. My dad was a football coach when I was born. I was supposed to be his All-American Linebacker. When he got a girl, he decided to teach her about the sport instead. Even though my father has gone to the Lord, I have to think that today he’s thinking, ‘She finally got a really important job," says Broncos owner, Dr. Condoleezza Rice.

Dr. Rice and Mellody Hobson may have an important job in Broncos Country but they also become the first African-American women to own part of a team, "The moment is humbling, and it’s historical, and yet, I feel at home," says Broncos owner, Mellody Hobson. Dr. Rice added, "Because you know in days when communities are ripped apart by so much, the football team, like the Broncos, can be a source of unity. A source of common purpose. A source of common pride."
