Colorado Springs Police Officer injured in a motorcycle accident

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A Colorado Springs Police (CSPD) motorcycle officer was injured in a crash while pursuing a vehicle.

The accident shut down Centennial Blvd by Windmill Ave just after 4 p.m.

The officer was attempting to pull over a Jeep SUV.

According to CSPD, the officer observed a speeding violation and pulled out to catch up and pull over the traffic violator. As the officer was approaching Windmill Ave traveling south on Centennial, a second vehicle attempted to travel across Centennial on Windmill. As the vehicle pulled out the motor officer collided with the vehicle in the middle of the intersection.

At this time, it is reported that both the driver and the officer only have minor injuries.
