Drivers pack Pueblo gas station offering fuel nearly 40 cents cheaper than average cost of gas

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- Cars packed into a Pueblo Shell Station Wednesday that offered gas at a price significantly lower than the current average cost of fuel.

The Shell Station, near Highway 50 and Fortino Blvd., was offering gas for just $3.94 as of 3 p.m.

That price is nearly 50 cents cheaper than the current average price of gas, according to the American Automobile Association fuel tracker.

According to the AAA map, the average cost of regular gas per gallon is $4.33 as of Wednesday, August 3. In Pueblo, the current average cost of regular gas per gallon is $4.30

Data provided by AAA indicates that gas in Colorado costs more than the national average.

The dip in gas prices isn't just happening in Pueblo. According to AAA, the national average of gas dropped three cents Wednesday.

CNN reports that the steady decline in gas prices has been driven by multiple factors, including recession fears that have knocked down oil prices.
