Body of missing person recovered at Lake Pueblo State Park

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- According to Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the body of a missing person was found Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Lake Pueblo.

According to CPW, rangers at Lake Pueblo State Park first received reports of a missing person off North Sailboard late Thursday afternoon.

Using an underwater drone, the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office's Dive Team was able to recover the body in 17 feet of water.

According to CPW, the body was turned over to the Pueblo County Coroner's Office for identification of the official cause of death.

If this death is confirmed to be a drowning, CPW says this would be the 23rd drowning in Colorado this year. The record number of drownings was in 2020 with 34.
