Colorado Springs Police Department responds to burglary and assault

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- On July 3, 2022, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) received multiple calls reporting home invasions in the 1900 block of East La Salle Street.

CSPD found that a male suspect, identified as Vladimir Bernard, had kicked in five separate apartment doors. Bernard had damaged property and assaulted two people.

Residents reported that he was lingering in the parking lot.

CSPD responded with K9s and located Bernard at a different apartment building in the area.

CSPD says that he is not connected to the apartments in any way and is not known by any residents. Bernard was taken into custody without incident.
