Coroner identifies armed man in officer-involved shooting in Pueblo

PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The armed man in the officer-involved shooting has been identified by the Pueblo County Coroner.

Sunday, Pueblo Police said multiple units responded to the intersection of 6th Ave. and 28th St. following an officer-involved shooting incident.

Police said a man died after there were shots in the intersection. According to Pueblo Police, the man was suicidal.

According to the coroner, 33-year-old Brett Jay Chapman of Pueblo was identified to be in the incident. He was found dead at the scene.

The coroner says the Critical Incident Team will continue to investigate the incident.
