Colorado Springs Police: 19-year-old from Castle Rock dies at St. Francis Hospital after shooting

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is investigating a homicide after a gunshot wound victim died at St. Francis Hospital.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the hospital at 12:57 a.m. regarding a gunshot wound victim. Police say the man died from his injuries.

The El Paso County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 19-year-old Hoani Bartlett of Castle Rock.

Once at the hospital, police learned the shooting happened in the 4400 block of Burton Way. The CSPD Violent Crimes Homicide/Assault Unite has assumed responsibility for the investigation.

According to the CSPD, this is the 23rd homicide investigation in the City of Colorado Springs so far in 2022. This time last year, police investigated 18 homicides.
