Temporary road closure on Tejon Street; beginning Wednesday

MGN

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The City of Colorado Springs announced Monday that Tejon Street will temporarily close between Pikes Peak Ave. and Colorado Ave. for about a week.

Starting Wednesday, temporarily road closures will take place for the AdAmAn Alley project. In partnership with the Colorado Springs Utilities (CSU), the project is to upgrade utilities and repave the alley for the installation artwork near Nevada Ave., Colorado Ave., and Tejon Street.

A westbound lane on Colorado Ave. between Nevada Ave. and Tejon Street will also be closed as crews work on the project.

The renovated reconstructed alleys will be renamed "AdAmAn Alley" in honor of the heritage club celebrating its 100-year anniversary in December 2022.

About 600 linear feet of alley will have over 100 years of utilities upgraded and pavement reconstructed. The surface upgrade supports pedestrian accessibility. Once the project is finished, city agencies and private property owners will implement public art.
