Colorado Springs Police: Suspect breaks into house, assaults neighbor trying to stop her

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A female suspect is in custody after reportedly burglarizing a home in Colorado Springs at 1000 Mohawk Drive.

According to police, a neighbor reported a female suspect was kicking at the door of a house and trying to enter.

The Colorado Springs Police Department said another neighbor tried intervening. That's when the suspect assaulted that neighbor and then used a rock to break a window and entered the home.

According to the CSPD, the suspect removed property from the house and fled. Police were able to find her and return the stolen property.

The victim of the assault was taken to a hospital for his injuries.
