Colorado Springs Police say Ohio woman died in shooting near Rampart Park


COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Wednesday, police released the name of the woman who was found dead Saturday after a reported shooting.

On May 14, officers with the Colorado Springs Police Department responded to 8270 Lexington Drive, Rampart Park, to investigate a shooting at 10:30 p.m.

At the scene, officers found the body of a woman.

Monday, the El Paso County Coroner's Office completed the autopsy and identified the victim as 32-year-old Abigail Miller of Dayton, Ohio.

Police say her shooting death has been ruled a homicide.

According to CSPD, this is a "random act of violence," and a suspect has yet to be identified.

According to police, this is the 20th homicide investigation in the City of Colorado Springs so far this year. At this time last year, CSPD says there were 17 homicides.
