Colorado Springs Police arrest man in Circle K shooting

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A suspect has been arrested in connection to a gas station shooting in Colorado Springs that injured two people.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Officer, 23-year-old Kevarris Norris was arrested on Thursday on two counts of attempted first-degree murder.

Police say Norris was contacted by two detectives and was taken into custody and booked into the El Paso County Jail without incident.

Monday, officers responded to the Circle K at 3290 Austin Bluffs Pkwy. on reports of a shooting. At the scene, police found two people suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

According to police, Norris is accused of shooting a Circle K employee inside the store before going back outside and shooting a second victim who was at a gas pump.

Police say Norris drove away from the scene in the second victim's vehicle. That vehicle has since been located.

According to police, both victims suffered significant injuries, however, they are expected to survive.

In a press release, the Colorado Springs Police Department thanked the community for their assistance in identifying Norris.
