Motorcycle rider killed in crash, 1 driver arrested

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A motorcycle rider was killed and another driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI following an overnight crash in Colorado Springs.

Just after midnight on Thursday, Colorado Springs Police responded to the crash between a motorcycle and sedan on Marksheffel Rd. between Drennan Rd. and Space Village Ave. Investigators say the sedan had rolled several times and the motorcycle rider was declared deceased.

The driver of the sedan was taken to the hospital for treatment and later arrested for DUI. The area of Marksheffel Rd. between Space Village and Drennan was closed for several hours due to the extensive evidence area of the crash scene.

At this time the identity of the motorcycle rider and sedan driver have not been released.
