Pueblo South High School JROTC program holds flag retirement ceremony
PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- A group of aspiring military officers at South High School performed a flag retirement ceremony on campus Thursday.
During the ceremony, a flag that has reached the end of its service is decommissioned in accordance with the nation's flag code, offering a valuable learning experience for the students and observers.
According to District 60, the JROTC program saw the proper disposal of nearly 100 tattered and worn U.S. Flags.
A JROTC student who participated in the event said they wanted to retire the flag that represents our country and honor everyone who's fought for it.
