Wildfire shuts down EB I-70 in Silverthorne

SILVERTHORNE, Colo. (KRDO) -- A wildfire shutdown eastbound I-70 Thursday night while crews work in the area.

Colorado State Patrol says the fire is just south of the interstate, between the Eisenhower Tunnel and Silverthorne.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area and take Highway 6 over Loveland Pass as an alternate route.

At 9:18 p.m., CSP said there was no plan on when I-70 would open back up.

This is a developing story.
