Morgan County inmate escapes Fort Morgan hospital
MORGAN COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Morgan County Sheriff's Office is looking for a county jail inmate that escaped a Fort Morgan hospital Thursday.
According to 9News, Chaz Contreras, 29, was being treated at Colorado Plains Medical Center when he escaped custody around 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Police say Contreras is 5'3, with brown hair and eyes. He was last seen wearing an orange jail uniform.
The Morgan County Sheriff's Office says he escaped after an "internal failure to follow procedure."
Residents in the area received a reverse 9-1-1 call urging them to lock their doors and watch for anything suspicious. If anyone sees Contreras, you're asked to contact the local authorities.
