Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station conducts fire training

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- Thursday, the Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station Fire Department underwent fire training exercises. They are the latest local fire fighters getting ready for the upcoming wildfire season.

The training helps ensure emergency responders are prepared for a variety of incidents on and off the station.

If you saw smoke or fire near the I-25 and Highway 115 corridor Thursday, it was part of their training.

The fire training center on CMAFS has safety controls in place to ensure the area stays safe while providing an educational environment for the firefighters.
