Plans for 2021 Colorado State Fair

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- Plans for the 2021 Colorado State Fair are coming together.

Many of the acts slated to perform in 2020 are now lined up for this upcoming summer.

Nelly is scheduled to perform on September 4 at 7 p.m. According to our news partners at the Pueblo Chieftain, that concert is selling out quickly.

The fair's general manager, Scott Stoller, says ticket sales overall are outpacing both 2019 and 2018.

"I don't know if it's the amazing events that we are offering, or if it's a hunger for concerts, but our concert tickets are outpacing 2019 and 2018 by a major clip," Stroller told the Pueblo Chieftain. "We're looking at surpassing where we were by July 1 by next week. So there's definitely an interest in concerts right now."

In addition to the Nelly concert, country artists Casey Donahew and Dustin Lynch are performing the first weekend of the fair.

The Colorado State Fair is set to run from August 27 through September 6.
