Colorado Springs police: deadly scooter crash closed all lanes of Academy Blvd at Maizeland
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- All lanes closed at Academy and Maizeland due to a fatal traffic accident involving a scooter and a vehicle.
Reports came in of the accident just before 4 p.m.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, a person on a scooter was heading north on Academy when they crashed into the back of a car. The driver of the scooter died at the scene.
The area was closed to traffic for several hours before opening back up 6:49 p.m.
Academy/Maizeland will be shut down for a major crash. Please avoid the area.
