All Coloradans 16+ now eligible for COVID-19 vaccine

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Starting April 2nd, anyone 16 and older in Colorado is eligible to receive the Covid-19 vaccine.

Our partners at 9News in Denver spoke to people who've helped many seniors get their vaccine. They suggest keeping an eye out for mass-vaccination clinics, and for openings at pharmacies.

They also advice for people to utilize social media to help find any openings.

Some great resources include the "Colorado Vaccine Hunters" Facebook group, and @COvax alerts on Twitter.

You can also search vaccine availability at pharmacies through vaccinespotter.org.

As of the end of this week, many mass vaccination clinics are now able to vaccinate about 6,000 people per day, so make sure you're keeping an eye out for those appointments, as well.

The clinic at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs is operated by Centura Health, so in order to get a spot there, you’ll need to register on their website or through their vaccine hotline.

It’s a similar process to set up an appointment through most hospitals.

Almost all providers will indicate whether they have one shot or two shot doses of the vaccine, but many still don't know if it will be Moderna or Phizer.
