PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- On Friday, Pueblo County Health officials announced the city's COVID-19 vaccination clinic located at the Pueblo Mall would be changing its location.

Starting Monday, the clinic would move to the Colorado State Fairgrounds as Centura Health and COVID Check Colorado would take over vaccination operations.

"This is an incredible development for Pueblo," said Pueblo County Health Director Randy Evetts. "It will expand the amount of vaccines that can be given in a day."

Currently at the Pueblo Mall clinic, Pueblo Health officials administer around 1,500 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine every day. With the state taking over the operation, Evetts says they'll eventually be able to provide around 6,000 doses.

However, the process for getting a vaccine in Pueblo has changed significantly. Recipients will no longer pre-register with Pueblo County, but with Centura Health. You can pre-register to receive your vaccine in Pueblo here.

On Friday, the State of Colorado will move to stage 1b 4 of the vaccination process. This mean front line essential worker, government employees, and ages 16 to 59 with a single health risk will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
