COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. ( KRDO) -- El Paso County Board of Health is waiving 2021 retail food establishment fees for full-service restaurant, bars, and taverns.
Wednesday, the El Paso County Board of Health voted unanimously to waive 2021 licensing fees for full-service retail food establishments, bars, and taverns in the area. This is in efforts to provide local restaurants impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic some economic relief.
This bill now provides financial assistance to 57 percent of the 2,733 retail food establishments in El Paso County. As a result, over $620,000 of fees have been waived.
The Board’s action was made possible by Senate Bill 20B-001, which was signed into law in December 2020 and aims to help alleviate the financial impacts of COVID-19 on the restaurant industry.
