Manitou Springs Police officer arrested for sexual misconduct


MANITOU SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department arrested a Manitou Springs Police officer Tuesday on charges of sexual misconduct.

Manitou Springs Police say Officer Jacob Carley is charged for violating Section 18-7-107 of the Colorado Revised Statutes by distributing a private sexual message from someone with the intent to harass, intimidate, or coerce the depicted person.

This violation falls under House Bill 18-1264, which deals with the scope of revenge porn criminal offenses.

Effective November, 24 Carley is on administrative leave.

The Manitou Springs Police Department is undergoing an internal affairs investigation. The criminal investigation is being handled by the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Colorado Springs police say he faces a class 1 misdemeanor charge.

    KRDO, that is a lie.
    The statute he was arrested for is 18-7-107. Posting a private image for harassment – definitions.
    I hope he sues you for slander.

  2. Guess he wanted to maintain power and control over someone… Probably should not be in LE. Need better psych evals for people that want to be a police officer….
