Fremont County inmate dies from suspected COVID complications

FREMONT, Colo. (KRDO) - An inmate from the Colorado Department of Corrections has died following symptoms of COVID-19.

According to a press release from the Department of Corrections, the inmate was a 58-year-old man that was residing at the Fremont Correctional Facility.

At this time, we do not know the name of the inmate. He was taken to a Canon City hospital on October 14 after experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 and was later transferred to Littleton.

The Fremont Correctional Facility has made operational adjustments to deal with the COVID-19 outbreak at the facility.
