Teenage girl severely injured in shooting near Colorado Springs park

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo (KRDO) -- Police have issued an arrest warrant after a teenage girl was shot early Sunday morning near a park in Colorado Springs.

Around 1:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the UC Health Emergency Room in regards to a teenager who was shot and had life-threatening-injuries.

Detectives learned that the victim was in a car with three other juvenile females near Cottonwood Creek Park on 7040 Rangewood Drive when she was shot. The teenager's friends took the victim to the emergency room immediately.

Police say the investigation led to an arrest warrant being issued for a teenage male on four counts of attempted murder in the first degree.
