Colorado Springs Police investigate early morning shooting near airport

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - The Colorado Springs Police Department is investigating an early morning shooting near the Colorado Springs Airport.

Officers were called to the intersection of E. Fountain Blvd. and S. Murray Blvd., around 5:22 a.m. Thursday. Officers found a man in the middle of the road with at least one gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators determined that the victim was at a nearby gas station with a woman when another man approached them and some sort of altercation occurred and the other man shot the victim.

At this time Colorado Springs Police do not have a suspect description, but say this was an isolated incident. They are still searching for the suspect at this hour.
