Former Air Force football player gets picked up by New York Jets

The New York Jets have signed veteran Donte Moncrief to help their banged-up wide receiver group. The team also announced Monday it has released kicker Brett Maher. The move with Maher means incumbent Sam Ficken has won the kicker competition. New York also claimed defensive back Zane Lewis off waivers from the Arizona Cardinals. Moncrief agreed to terms with the Jets on Friday but the receiver had to go through COVID-19 protocols before officially signing. He has 204 receptions for 2,561 yards and 21 touchdowns in six NFL seasons with Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Pittsburgh and Carolina.
