Possible homicide under investigation after woman’s body found on Highway 24

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) - El Paso County detectives are investigating a homicide off Highway 24 and Cascade, just west of Manitou Springs.

Jackie Kirby - the Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer - says officers found the body of a female after responding to several calls for a welfare check.

There are no suspects at this time, and they do not believe there is any danger to the public.

Metro Crime Lab was on scene investigating throughout the morning. The Mobile Command Unit and the El Paso County Coroner's Office were no longer on the scene as of 11:20 a.m.

All lanes have been reopened on Hwy 24.

    1. And that makes it okay, right? Homeless people are barely people in the eyes of the right.. Their great buddy Jesus would disagree but this is America so… Obviously, a homeless person or a drug addict deserves death.

    2. Negative…This incredible young woman and I went to high school together. I find it absolutely disgusting that you would make such an outrages accusation about someone you don’t know . This limb you are going out on is completely inaccurate.
