TRAVEL ALERT: Slick and snow-packed roads in Southern Colorado

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - Drivers were met with slick and icy road conditions Tuesday morning.

The Colorado Department of Transportation advised people to stay home or delay their morning commute.

According to CDOT, commuters should double their commute time and take it slow.

Despite the slick conditions, there were no accidents in Southern Colorado during the early commute hours.

The first crash in Colorado Springs was reported right before 7:20 a.m.

The City of Colorado Springs was placed on accident alert status Monday afternoon and that continued into Tuesday morning.

The City of Fountain was also placed on accident alert status.
