Plane ‘went down’ on Dept. of Corrections property, says Fremont County Sheriff

FREMONT COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Fremont County Sheriff has confirmed that a plane 'went down' on Department of Corrections property near Canon City, according to our partners at 9News.

The Sheriff says that two people were airlifted from the scene, but it's unclear at this time if they were on the plane or hit when the plane landed. It's also unclear how many people were on the plane.

The plane went down around 2 p.m. on a property immediately east of Canon City and south of Highway 50, the Sheriff told 9News.
