cold road temps

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - Drivers were greeted with cold temperatures Monday morning.

Drivers in Colorado Springs and Pueblo didn't experience any accidents throughout the morning, but they did experience cold temperatures.

Just after 7 a.m., road temps rose slightly to get to 11 degrees near Manitou Springs and 12 degrees near Falcon.

According to StormTracker 13's Katie Donovan, temperatures in the mountain cities will be warming to the 20s and low 30s Monday. Temperatures will also be warming to the 30s along I-25 as the day continues.

You should never leave your vehicle running unattended. It's against the law, and there have been a number of auto thefts this year. Remote control starters are the exception.

CDOT is also warning parents to check their kids' coats before buckling the car seat. Children should not wear winter coats underneath their car seat harness.
