Midway Ranch neighbors say Amazon delivery drivers won’t deliver to their area

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- In rural Midway Ranch, visitors are hard-pressed to find a nearby neighbor or cars driving down the road, and that includes Amazon delivery drivers.

Homeowners in the area say they started having trouble receiving packages when the e-commerce site started using their own drivers.

Dawn Seip says it's "just the Amazon drivers alone are the ones we have issues with."

She didn't get five packages delivered to home in time for Christmas. The delivery status on her Amazon app showed, "carrier unable to gain access to front door to deliver the package."

Seip says her front gate was wide open, there is no passcode to enter her property and she didn't see any delivery trucks go by the house.

"I have cameras on every corner of my house and they're just not showing up," Seip said. "We live in the country, but we're paying for the same service."

Most roads in the Midway area are covered in dirt and certainly bumpy, but they're driveable.

Her complaint was echoed when she asked nearby neighbors if they had experienced similar issues. Nearly 20 in the area had the same troubles she did.

KRDO reached out to Amazon asking about the problem.

A spokesperson told KRDO, "We are investigating this issue and have reached out to the customer to make it right."

Soon after, Seip got a call.

"They called me last night immediately after you talked to them," Seip said.

Seip was refunded for some of her orders but hopes the continuing problem gets fixed for her neighbors.

Over the phone, Seip says an Amazon representative told her they are speaking with local offices to fix the issue.
