Suspect in custody after 7-hour long standoff with deputies in Cimarron Hills area

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. -- A suspect wanted on multiple felony arrest warrants was finally taken into custody after a nearly 7-hour standoff Wednesday evening.

Residents were ordered to stay in their homes Wednesday afternoon while the El Paso County Sheriff's Office executes a felony search warrant on Noble St. near Chippewa in the Cimarron Hills area.

The Sheriff's Office tells us that the suspect, identified as Kyle Miller, is wanted on multiple violent charges.

The suspect has barricaded himself inside a home and is not being cooperative, according to the Sheriff's Office. At this time, deputies believe there is only one person inside the home.

Deputies were called in at 2:30 p.m. and SWAT was paged in at 4:30 p.m., the Sheriff's Office says. The suspect was finally taken into custody just after 9:20 p.m., the Sheriff's Office said in a tweet.

A bomb squad was spotted on site and suiting up, according to our crew at the scene.
