According to Pueblo Police, Sunday at approximately 2:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of E. Ash Street with reports of a shooting.

The shooting happened in an alley behind residential homes. Neighbors called police after hearing the shots nearby but were worried that this shooting might be gang-related. Because of that, most of the neighbors we spoke to did not want to be shown on camera.

Shawnte Thomas, one neighbor who did speak said, “It was concerning because I didn’t know what was going on so I just watched the news and scoped it out a little and laid back, just to stay out of the police way.”

"One juvenile male has succumbed to his injuries as a result of the shooting," PD said in a statement.

The identity of the victim is still unknown as this is an active homicide investigation.

Police are asking anyone who may have information about the investigation and/or know the identity of the suspect(s) to contact the Pueblo Police Department.
