Colorado Springs woman turns 101!
A big celebration took place Saturday afternoon at the Winslow Court Retirement Community in Colorado Springs.
It was all in honor of Merle Southern, a woman from Missouri who is celebrating her 101st birthday on Monday, Dec. 2nd. The retirement community threw her a huge party, with cake, presents and all her favorite people.
When it comes to living to 101, Southern told us it's about making sure you stay active, tell it like it is and eat a big breakfast.
"You're not just 101, you're 101 and you're still living life fully," Kim Butler, the executive director at Winslow Court told Merle.
Merle told us she believes she's had a pretty good life.
