Grand opening for “Skate in the Park”

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Skate in the Park will be open for an extended season continuing through February 23, 2020. The regular admission price, including skates, is $10 per person. Also new this year, is a concession stand and Bobby the Seal skate aids to help younger guests better enjoy the rink.

This is the seventh year of the outdoor ice rink in Acacia Park. Located at 115 E. Platte Ave. Acacia is one of four historic city parks in the city center. Several additional special activities are planned throughout the season, including a tree lighting ceremony on Nov. 23. Holiday Pop-Up Shops

Three temporary Pop-Up shops will be open for the holidays in Downtown Colorado Springs. These limited-time engagements offer new retailers an opportunity to test their concepts in a brick-and-mortar setting while providing additional opportunities for holiday shoppers. Since its inception five years ago, the Holiday Pop-Up program has hosted more than 15 businesses, four of which are still operating in Downtown today. A program of the Downtown Development Authority (DDA), vacant retail space in the Downtown core been reduced from over 60,000 sq ft in 2014 to less than 10,000 sq ft in 2019.
