Man pleads guilty in El Paso County horse abuse case
A man has pleaded guilty to aggravated animal cruelty in an El Paso County case involving emaciated horses.
We first reported on this story in April, when we learned that 53-year-old Brian Holloway was facing two counts of felony cruelty to animals and 10 counts of misdemeanor cruelty to animals.
Ten horses were found in various stages of emaciation on Holloway's property after officers executed a search warrant in March. There were also two deceased horses inside of stalls in a large barn.
Holloway pleaded guilty to the Class 6 Felony around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to a Facebook post from the 4th Judicial District Attorney's Office.
His sentencing is set for 1:30 p.m. Jan. 14, 2020.
