Crash report: Colorado drivers experience wet commute Thursday

Drivers woke up to wet roadways with patches of slick spots over bridges and overpasses Thursday morning.

Just after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, the City of Colorado Springs was placed on Accident Alert status. At 8:00 a.m. Thursday it was taken off Accident Alert status.

The biggest concern Thursday was for those traveling around the Walsenburg/Trinidad area. Drivers in the area experienced whiteout conditions and snow-packed roads.

The first crash in Colorado Springs was reported shortly after 6 a.m. on I-25 northbound just before Garden of the Gods. The vehicles were moved to the shoulder and no delays were reported.
