Police searching for dismembered head, hands and feet of woman left in dumpster

Pueblo Police confirm that the body of Mary Cuevas-Garcia was found dismembered at the head, hands and feet. Investigators still have not found those body parts, and they say the prime suspect, Anthony Cuevas, is not cooperating.

Captain Eric Bravo with the Pueblo Police Department tells us they’ve been searching for the body parts since the body was first found Thursday morning.

Investigators tell us they’re searching west of town near the garbage dump property.

We also learned today that Cuevas was involved in a police pursuit with Pueblo PD Thursday evening, the night before he was apprehended. Pueblo detectives were at a neighbor’s house when Cuevas drove by in his mother’s second vehicle. At that time, Cuevas had already sold her other vehicle to a scrap yard.

A neighbor who was speaking with the police saw the car drive by and said, “That’s her car.” This initiated a police pursuit. Cuevas led police to a spot west of Lake Pueblo Reservoir. That’s where he ditched the car and fled on foot. Both cars are now in police possession.

Right now investigators are still following up on leads and searching for the missing body parts.
