COS Airport to offer half off parking for holiday season

This year 60 million people are expected to travel by air during the quickly approaching holiday season. The Colorado Springs Airport is no exception to the high volume.

Public Communications Specialist Dana Shield says they’re preparing for a peak around Thanksgiving.

“For holiday travel, our anticipated busiest day will be the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and that whole week leading up to it,” Shield said. “Monday to Wednesday we will see some pretty high volumes and on the return the Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving we will see some high volume as well.”

But as we all know, flying is expensive. COS Airport is trying to make things as easy and cheap as possible for you.

“Starting November 15th, right before Thanksgiving all the way through the end of the year, December 31st, you can get 50 percent off our long term parking,” Shield said.

To take advantage of the deal, download the coupon from their website to redeem it.

This deal has people more than excited.

Irma Dugger said, “If they would drop the prices in the parking lot to 50 percent off then I would definitely fly out of the Springs.”

Liz Hahn added, “Save us money, give people more money to travel home to families, making it more worthwhile flying out of the Springs, more convenient.”

Construction at the airport will continue through the spring of 2020 and affect some parking. But Shield says it should not be a major problem moving forward.

“We do have some relocation,” she said. “Our rental cars are relocated on the second floor as well as our information booth. Other than that, travelers shouldn’t see that much inconvenience.”

However, due to the large influx of drivers and construction, you should still allow yourself as much time as possible to make your flight.

Be sure to book your flights for the holidays as soon as possible to avoid paying exorbitant prices.
