Pueblo fire crews responding to fire along Fountain Creek, issue evacuations

Update: The Pueblo Fire Department has clarified that no houses were involved in this fire; crews received an earlier report of a home on fire which was later determined to be false.

The fire began at approximately 2:20 pm. and is at 70% containment as of 5 p.m. and under control. Multiple agencies responded to the blaze that consumed about 6 acres in the Belmont neighborhood, according to a PFD official.

No injuries were reported.

Pueblo fire crews are responding to a blaze along Fountain Creek across from the Target that is prompting evacuations.

The Pueblo Fire Department is asking residents in the 1800-2100 block of Mohawk Road to evacuate. They say the “wildfire is growing exponentially with the wind conditions.” They confirmed a house is on fire.
