Washington man charged with assaulting roommate, believed he was a vampire

A 40-year-old Washington man was charged with felony assault after accusing his roommate of being a vampire and allegedly striking him with a metal rod.

The Kitsap County court in Washington state charged the man Monday after he was suspected of assaulting his roommate, reported ABC News.

According to the roommate, the suspect accused him of being a vampire, threatened to kill him and struck him with the metal rod. The roommate said he feared for his life because the suspect was physically larger and had mental health issues.

The suspect’s brother told deputies that when the suspect accused the roommate of being a vampire, the roommate jokingly responded, “Is that what the kids are calling me these days?”

Authorities say the suspect believed this was an admission by the roommate of being a vampire.
