A-Basin, Keystone announce one-two punch of ski openings

Keystone Ski Resort announced it’s opening Saturday morning for the 2019-2020 season, and just hours later, Arapahoe Basin announced it would be open for a few hours of afternoon skiing on Friday.

That’s right, folks, ski season has officially kicked off in Colorado.

Arapahoe Basin is offering special lift tickets for $15 if you can make it for the two-hour opening day. The Black Mountain Express Lift is running from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.

Keystone, which was surely trying to race A-Basin for the title of “first to open,” is set to welcome the skis and boards on Saturday. The River Run Gondola and Montezuma Express lifts will be open all day.

Other ski resorts are expected to open in the coming weeks. We’ll keep you updated as they announce their opening dates.
