Couple charged with murder in Canon City man’s death

The couple previously described as “persons of interest” in a homicide that happened last week in Canon City have now been charged with murder and are awaiting extradition back to Colorado.

Luciano Pogorzelski and Madison Blackburn were located and detained on unrelated drug charges in North Carolina, according to a press release from the Canon City Police Department Saturday.

The pair are accused of murdering 39-year-old Richard Fay in Canon City.

Detectives with the Canon City Police Department flew out to North Carolina to meet with authorities and get search warrants for the vehicle, phones and other property that were in Pogorzelski’s and Madison’s possession.

Monday, the Canon City Police Department announced they had been charged with second-degree murder.

Pogorzelski and Madison are currently being held in the Gaston County Jail and will be extradited back to Colorado.

The Canon City Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating two persons of interest in a Saturday night homicide, according to a release from the department.

Police would like to speak with Luciano C. Pogorzelski and Madison Blackburn, whom they believe had contact with 39-year-old Richard Fay prior to his death.

According to the release, Pogorzelski and Blackburn were last seen driving a 2005 dark gray 4-door Audi with the Tennessee plates 9M1-1V7 and are believed to be traveling in the Southern Colorado area.
