Colorado photographer’s ‘Up’-themed session goes viral

One five-year-old boy’s love for the Disney movie “Up” was captured by his photographer mother here in Colorado, and the resulting pictures have ballooned in popularity online.

Rachel Perman shared the pictures from the photoshoot celebrating her twins’ 5-year birthdays. Perman said her son, Elijah, is “borderline addicted” to the Disney movie, saying the movie’s iconic house and balloons are the only things he draws and colors.

Perman wanted a special photoshoot celebrating her children’s favorite things (more on that later), and while Elijah’s sister, Emilee, got a unicorn-themed portrait session, the theme was obvious for Elijah.

So Perman got her grandparents, Richard and Caroline Bain, to fill in for Carl and Ellie while Elijah dressed up as Russell.

Once they were posted to Perman’s photography Facebook page, they quickly got a lot of attention, and now they’ve been shared by thousands.

There’s a reason why Perman wanted to go all out for her twins’ birthday.

Perman explains: “I chose to do magical shoots for my kids birthday’s this year as all three of my kids share the same birthday week (I did a unicorn session with a horse dressed as a unicorn for his twin sister, you can see those on this page also) because 5 years ago I was diagnosed with Cancer right after my twins were born and had fears if I would even get to see their 5th birthday. My oldest, Mikayla, was 5 at the time and I hated not knowing if I would get the same time with them that I got with her. SO for their 5th birthday I wanted to celebrate the things they love with photos! Its a celebration for me and them!”

Perman says Mikayla is getting a special-themed photoshoot too, and her twins are excited to see it.
