Man struck, killed by train in Pueblo

A man was killed after he was struck by a train in Pueblo.

Officers were called to the area of 29th St. and the Interstate 25 on-ramp, near the Pueblo Mall, around 2:30 a.m. Friday. When they arrived they found the man’s body near the railroad tracks.

The crew of a train told investigators that they saw the man sitting right next to the tracks, holding a potted plant and rocking back and forth. The crew says they sounded the train’s horn, but the man did not respond to it. The train was not able to stop in time and the man was struck.
