Balloons fly for media day at Labor Day Liftoff

Labor Day weekend is here, and that means its time for Labor Day Liftoff in Colorado Springs.

Liftoff preparation kicked off Friday morning with media day. Organizers debriefed the media and sent many of them up in balloons to get looks over the city.

This year there will be plenty of new events to check out.

“The field will open at four o’clock in the afternoon, and from four to five all the vendors will be giving discounts for food and drinks. The beer gardens will also be open, and we start entertainment at five o’clock now instead of eight o’clock,” said Scott Appelman from Hot Apple Productions, one of the sponsors of the Liftoff.

Organizers have also planned for a mimosa bar each morning, and you can still enjoy all the normal staples, like the vendors and the balloon glow.
