Air Force Academy chapel to close for 4-year renovation project starting September 4

The Cadet Chapel at the United States Air Force Academy will close for more than three years beginning September 4 for necessary repairs, according to a release from the school.

The closure was initially scheduled for January 1, 2019 but was pushed back. This time though, it seems like they mean it. The Chapel will be open through Tuesday, September 3 before closing for as many as four years to complete a $158 million renovation project.

The project, which will commence November 1, aims to restore and preserve the historic structure.

Visitor hours of operation are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

Alternative locations and other information about the Chapel may be found here or by calling 719-333-4515.
