A preview of the Pine Creek football team

Pine Creek is loaded, some think the Eagles might have the best team in the state, with seventeen starters returning from last season. They have a slew of talent, and have a shot to reach the state title game for the sixth time in the last nine years, “There’s a big gap between a 17-year old and an 18-year-old. As they start to learn your scheme, and they’ve been in it for a while, the teaching becomes easier,” says Pine Creek head coach Todd Miller.

The Eagles offense is big and it’s led by running back David Moore III, who is drawing a lot of attention from division one schools. He’s the first four-year starter in school history. He won a state championship as a freshman and what better way to cap a career than with another state crown, “It’s exciting because right now, this team, we’re working our butts off like no other. With the upsetting season last year, we’re coming together finally. I feel like we’re more together than we were last year. So I’m just excited to see what we have this year,” says Moore.

The offensive line is huge and there are plenty of perimeter weapons. Leading recevier Eddie Kyle returns and tight end Reese Rowan returns from an injury, he should be a problem for everyone. On defense, versatile athlete Max Lofy leads the way, he’s committed to play football at Wisconsin, “We’ve got plenty of potential. We’ve got play makers. We’ve got these big lineman out here. It really just comes down to: can we execute and can we focus when we need to?,” says Lofy. Davis Moore added “Anything can happen at any moment. So we just want to make sure we secure what we wanted to achieve, which is a state championship.”
