08/17/19 Forecast Discussion

Tonight: Isolated showers possible this evening in El Paso County as a gust front originating from a thunderstorm on I-70 is passing through Colorado Springs. This will act as a lifting mechanism, triggering a few rain showers to pop up. Overall severity of any storms tonight across I-25 will be very low. These light showers will be short-lived, with El Paso County turning mostly clear overnight with a low temperature of 57 degrees.

Sunday: Starting off the day with plentiful sunshine helping temperatures reach near-record high’s in Colorado Springs (93) and Pueblo (100). By early afternoon, turning partly cloudy with an isolated shower or two possible. But the vast majority of the I-25 and HWY 50 corridors will stay dry.

Extended: This hot and dry spell will continue for the start of next week, temperatures staying close to record high’s through Tuesday with minimal rain chances. Wednesday will be the next best bet for a few thunderstorms, and cooling off.
